The Rule of Travel in Malaysia

While driving styles in Malaysia may be different than what we are used to in the US, so are walking styles. After a week in Malaysia I finally learned the cardinal rule for trying to cross the road without a crosswalk.........RAISING YOUR HAND! This tip is golden and don't forget it. Want to cross the street and there isn't a crosswalk, raise your hand!

Also, while sidewalks are in Malaysia, they may not be available everywhere so walking on the side of the street is a must. Cars are aware of this but spacing is much tighter than in the US, so watch your toes!
